Considering its security system and the constant movement of personnel and goods, Mediamarkt needed a reliable access control system for the reading and automatic recognition of license plates in its stores to prevent unauthorized access. Additionally, it was essential to provide personalized access through whitelists for freight trucks.

⟶ Solution Technology

After a detailed analysis of the facilities, lane width, and complexity, Innova has decided to implement the ALPR (Automatic License Plate Recognition) technology, specifically SIRAM OCR5. This technology effectively achieves the goal of automating access for authorized vehicles in restricted areas, such as loading and unloading zones. The specific characteristics of the restricted access points and authorized vehicles at Mediamarkt stores, as well as the integration of our LPR (License Plate Recognition) technology with the existing access control system, ensure maximum security for the premises and its surroundings. The key to the installation has been the combination of our LPR technology, SIRAM Desico, and the capture units, SIRAM Totem..

The logistics area of Mediamarkt in the commercial zone of Madrid requires robust capture units that can provide efficient license plate reading in wide lanes where trucks circulate. For this purpose, the ANPR capture unit SIRAM Totem has been chosen, taking into account their specific location in the control lanes. For vehicle detection and triggering the OCR (Optical Character Recognition), the SIRAM Conex IP01 control electronics have been used. This electronics also allows receiving commands from the access control system to open the access barriers.

In this way, the access control system has been equipped with a high level of reliability and intelligent management of vehicle entries and exits, behaving like any card reader but identifying vehicles by their license plates.
