Vehicle Access Control at FedEx Barcelona
FedEx has opened a new operations center in the Barcelona Free Trade Zone, which will handle domestic and international shipments. The new FedEx Express center in the industrial area of the Free Trade Zone in Barcelona covers over 16,000 square meters and has been equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
FedEx’s needs, both for vehicle access control and ensuring the security of the premises and surroundings, required a reliable and robust system for automatic license plate recognition.
Solution & Technology
Innova has designed a solution that combines our SIRAM Suite technology with SIRAM Compact capture units. An important factor in this installation is the speed and reliability of the license plate recognition system, SIRAM OCR5,as vehicle entry and exit are concentrated in very short time frames. It is necessary for the license plate recognition solution to operate without interruptions during peak traffic moments. The facilities at the Free Trade Zone in FedEx (Barcelona) require capture units that can provide efficient and fast license plate reading. Therefore, the ANPR SIRAM Totem Compact capture unit has been chosen, considering their placement in the lanes.
The SIRAM system is linked to the operation process of the logistics center, serving as a tool that adds efficiency and security to the management of vehicle access control.
- Automatic access for all authorized vehicles, whether they are trucks, vans, or cars.
- Registration of vehicles with temporary access authorization to the premises.
- Management of the duration of stay within the premises.
