⟶ Cívitas Metropolitano Stadium: Park-and-Ride Parking

The Cívitas Metropolitano Stadium is the home venue of Atlético de Madrid football club. Located in the Rosas neighborhood (Madrid). With a capacity of 68,456 spectators, this stadium receives thousands of people and vehicles at its facilities every day. Thanks to its dimensions, this stadium has a park and ride to promote sustainable mobility in the city of Madrid.

⟶ Client’s Needs

Taking into account the characteristics of the parking facility located at the Cívitas Metropolitano, a Park & Ride system has been implemented to manage vehicle mobility and promote the use of public transport. This need for traffic and mobility planning led to the creation of APARCA+T, an initiative by EMT Madrid that provides free parking by allowing users to validate their public transport pass information. For the implementation of this deterrent system, EMT needed to have a technological partner that would provide maximum precision in license plate reading and full integration into the Orbility parking management system (PMS).

⟶ Solution Technology

In order to guarantee maximum functionality without service stops or errors in license plate reading, Innova has installed our intelligent solution ALPR SIRAM OCR5. This license plate recognition software based on deep learning that guarantees a accuracy rate greater than 99%, allowing uninterrupted operation 24/7. This project, led by our partner Orbility Spain, has enabled the implementation of a Park & Ride parking facility at the entrance of the Cívitas Metropolitano football stadium in Madrid, powered by our LPR technology.

How does the Park&Ride system work? As soon as the user purchases their public transport ticket, they can validate the free stay after registering the license plate and the transport card, being the recognition of license plates essential to access and exit the car park. The SIRAM OCR5 ALPR license plate recognition technology gives parking operators the possibility of offering new Ticketless services because it ensures maximum service quality and a high accuracy rate.
